Preparation and application

Surface preparation

The base on which the product is applied on must be clean, solid, dry, without traces of oil and grease, supported and without parts falling off. Facade primer can be applied on surfaces based on lime, cement, cement-lime plasters at least one month old. Insufficiently supported coatings and parts that are falling off, coatings soluble in water should be fully removed and repaired with appropriate material prior to application of the primer. Surfaces contaminated with mold and algae should be washed with hot water and disinfected with appropriate products.

Product preparation and installation

1. Prior to the start of works, it is necessary to mix facade primer EnveoGrund well, to the bottom of the bucket after that, homogenize material from different lots and/or packaging in one larger vessel for tone harmonization (equalizing). If required, dilute with clean water to 20% maximum, for reaching required consistency of the material. Extensive dilution of primer leads to weakening of its functions and reduction of useful life of the facade system.
2. The surface of the facade should be coated with primer EnveoGrund minimum 12 h prior to the beginning of the application of facade plaster. Primer should be toned in the same shade as the facade plaster, in line with the Enveo mix system.
3. The product EnveoGrund is applied with long-haired roller or brush to full surface coverage, in one to two layers. Application of primer should be done even and in continuity, in order to reach homogenous surface and even drying. Subsequent corrections by adding water and pigment are not allowed.
4. Drying of material takes at least 12h in optimum conditions. At lower temperatures and at increased humidity, the drying can last longer, while with absorbent surfaces and higher air temperature and surface temperature it can be shorter. Product should be protected from the elements until it is completely dry.
   
   * All stated parameters refer to standard weather conditions: temperature 20°C, relative humidity up to 65%.
    
5. Temperature of the surface and air during the application of facade primer EnveoGrund must be between 5°C and 30°C. In case weather conditions do not match the requirements; it is necessary to stop the work and wait for the optimum conditions.
   
   The manufacturer recommends application on small, test surfaces to make sure the product/surfaces are properly prepared and whether appropriate conditions for use and installation have been provided. If not, please stop the work and contact the Saint-Gobain građevinski proizvodi d.o.o Beograd representative. The company shall not be responsible for incorrect execution of works with the stated material as well as use of material for the purpose not stated in product description. Complaints submitted after the completion of execution of works shall not be accepted.

Tools

• For mixing: electric mixer or manually.  
• For application: long-haired roller and/or brush.

Product consumption

Approximately 0,2 - 0,25 kg/m² per layer of facade primer. Consumption may differ depending on the absorption of the surface and conditions under which the primer is applied, type of tools, air and surface temperature, etc.
